Burns Bog

I have been to Burns Bog in Delta a couple of summers ago, but had forgotten about this hidden gem until yesterday when the park popped into my head. I had forgotten how beautiful this trail really is. For the most part this trail is boardwalk so that you don’t sink into the soil. The trail is about 45 minutes if you do the full loop depending on your pace. I love the lush green forest that surrounds this trail and the fact that it is usually pretty quiet. I picked a weird weather day to go (rain/snow/hail) so I had almost the whole park to myself which was ideal. The landscape of this park and forest is incredible it really transports you to another place. I love being able to see through parts of the forest where the trees are skinnier and farther apart. This forest almost feels magical in a sense. I enjoy boardwalk trails to break up my other hikes. There are also informative signs placed around the trail to explain exactly what a “bog” is.  I am looking forward to going back in the summer when the boardwalk isn’t as slippery from snow. I would definitely recommend this trail!
