Last weekend I got the oppourtunity to cross something off of my bucket list that I have been meaning to get to for a while now: snowshoeing! This has been something that I have wanted to do for the last few years, but have not had the chance due to either lack of snow or my own hesitance. This winter I was determined to finally give this winter activity a try. I want to try more winter activities a try so I decided that snowshoeing would be a good place to start. I ended up going to Seymour Mountain for this adventure and as this was my first time ever being on mountain in the winter time you can imagine how overjoyed I was at the beauty of the winter wonderland that was before me. Despite the cold it was a completely worth it! It was hard to not just stand around and take pictures of every tree so that I could remember the moment forever. Even though I was a little nervous about either not enjoying it or something going wrong somehow I fought through the anxiety and pushed through to rent snowshoes. The snowshoes felt a little floppy and strange at first while on my feet, but after a few minutes I was able to get past this and venture on through the discovery snowshoe trail. This was about a two and a half hour trail and it really made me see how good of an exercise snowshoeing really is. I was exhausted by the end of it! I am hoping to make snowshoeing an annual adventure for me because after experiencing this winter mountain life once, I will definitely have to go back! I am so happy to have experienced that world and am excited to go back for more snowshoeing as well as trying out another sport. Hopefully I will be able to remember how much fun I had trying something new and try out snowboarding or skiing next time!
